EXCERPTS FROM INTERVIEW WITH DEVI MOHAN IN THE SPEEKING TREE’S ARTICLE “PEACE ON YOUR PLATTER”

Devi Mohan, who was one of the panel speakers at the Vegan India Conference on 6 and 7 July representing Mohanji Foundation, was recently interviewed by Ms. Priti Agarwal from The Speaking Tree:

Devi spoke on the subject of Ahimsa, linking non-violence with being natural and with Yoga:

‘In a panel discussion on ahimsa, Devi Mohan, president of ACT Foundation and director of Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga, talked of the need to promote peace and harmony. She is from Yugoslavia, where she suffered a lot during war.

“If one becomes aware that eating meat is making our body a graveyard, and damaging the inner system, then veganism naturally becomes part of a daily life.”

“Choose to become aware, and to be compassionate. Today, we are facing many problems, but with veganism, we can resolve climate change, environmental issues, health problems and we can also resolve our spiritual blockages. So you can tick off so many things just by one choice — become vegan.” says Devi.’
